Sealing the outdoor wood furniture entails some tips for you to come up to a successful sealing.  Of course, when you buy some outdoor furniture, you want it to last long, especially with the most common variety of wood furniture being placed outside, the teak wood furniture.  It has to be treated and sealed for it to be able to maintain its elegance and beauty when you first bought it.  If desired, it would make your teak wood more presentable and hard wearing.

A Teak sealant could greatly maintain and preserve the desired honey color of teak wood furniture.  Also, it will help you to get rid of mildews and mold which destroys the appearance of the teak wood furniture.  Here are some tips for sealing your teak wood:

1.  It requires a light sanding for you to remove varnish chips and other flakes before you can apply the teak sealant.  Oil, water, or varnish based sealers are not advisable at all to be used as teak sealant due to the ability of the teak wood’s natural oil to seal out water.

2.  A clear kind of coating is recommended for application on teak wood furniture if you plan to use it and served with foods like the oily foods, with ketchup along with drinks because it can greatly stain your outdoor teak wood furniture.

3.  Water pooling around your outdoor teak wood garden furniture is prohibited even if teak wood’s nature is very much resistant to water warping and rotting.

These are some of the things you will need if you plan to clean and seal your outdoor teak wood garden furniture:

  • A laundry detergent with bleach along with a soft bristled brush for general cleaning of the teak wood furniture
  • A teak protectant for its treatment
  • The teak sealer to seal it
  • If you are having some almost rotted teak wood furniture, teak restorant is possible to use to bring back its natural honey color
  • Teak clear coating to coat it
